Joshua York
Nature for Adults

Joshua leads a variety of advanced learning opportunities offered throughout MetroParks, where participants build on their passion. They take place throughout the year, in the form of tree workshops, birding workshops or field trips, bird banding demonstrations, and other experiences. Each opportunity is designed to help build a sense of community across participants, and inspire volunteerism within conservation efforts, and promote advocacy.

Field trips highlight local assets, but also take advantage of Ohio’s captivating natural hotspots, like Magee Marsh Wildlife Area and Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area. These wildlife areas offer incredible opportunities to see native wildlife in concentrated amounts, powerfully bonding participants to nature, and helping them understand the importance of biodiversity.

These nature workshops and fieldtrips are extremely successful at moving participants from a small hobby to a lifelong commitment to nature. Most participants take steps to visit these hotspots on their own, after participating in a field trip. These programs also cultivate relationships with participants, get them involved with conservation efforts, thus building our MetroPark volunteers.
